The Google phone uses a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, that bring speed to the table. This has been used before on HTC handset – namely the HD2. In addition, the Nexus also comes with 512MB of RAM and ROM under the bonnet. This mobile phone’s display is touchscreen and is pretty big, coming in at 480 x 800. It also comes with a proximity sensor, a light sensor and one accelerometer. Furthermore, the Nexus One has a HSPA-capable GSM radio, WiFi, one micro SD slot and AGPS chip.

This mobile phone is one of the fastest going, but it is missing a number of hardware features that may leave Android fans a little ticked off. The missing features include multi-touch support, dual-mode capability for GSM and CDMA networks, and native tethering.

Mobile phone bloggers, gadget reviewers and industry experts seem to be really impressed with the display screen on this handset. The 3.7-inch display looks really good and seems to be one of the best which features Android OS. The resolution is quite high also, (480 x 800). One drawback of the AMOLED display is that it can come out a little Orange. Picture taking might bee a little poor, if you use this phone outside on a sunny day. The light settings will not help and your pictures will not be the best you have ever seen from a camera phone. On the other hand the Google Nexus One is not a camera phone and if you want a phone which is big on picture you might be better off with the Pixon 12 by Samsung.

The nice display and the super fast Snapdragon processor, will allows us to forgive the Google Nexus One for what it is lacking. While the enhanced voice capabilities of the Google phone contributes to the overall performance. All in all, even if this mobile phone has some features missing, however it is still a interesting addition to the cell phone market, thanks to the speed and the name behind the phone – Google. Only time will tell if this handset has what it takes. We need to take into account that this is Google’s first effort and history tells us that upgrades and improvements will be made on subsequent releases. Expect subtle changes to be made and a Nexus Two to be released within a year.
