Amityville 4: The Evil Escapes Movie Review

By: Joe Nobles

Amityville 4: The Evil Escapes is about the demonic force lurking in Amityville for over 300 years escaping to a remote mansion in California. It encounters a struggling family living together by uncertain means. The beast manipulates a little girl by manifesting itself in the form of her dead father.

Amityville 4

As for the movie, I thought this movie was a lot better, than Amityville 3D. The storyline was a bit weird because of the whole migrating to another house. Other than that, it was really good.

The only real problem I had with the movie was the acting from the youngest girl. They really should have picked a better actress, but that’s just me. I say this because she didn’t show too much emotion in her role and she could have been a lot better, on the last segment of the film. I would get more in depth with it but I don’t like to spoil movies for people.

Another thing that got to me was the very beginning. In part 3, the house blows up but in this part, the house is rebuilt. The house is the same model and look, as the previous films, and it has not changed. I guess since part 3 was so horrible, you can erase it from any collection because you won’t miss anything through the one film gap, with this series. If part 4 picked up from where part 3 left off, then I would understand buying part 3 for the collection. That’s just a minor note to anyone who enjoys horror movies, like I do, and collects them.

If you haven’t seen this part of the collection, I suggest to watch it. At the same time, you should be open minded to the film, due to the fact of the whole migration setting. It does give a different flavor on the movie, instead of the same house all the time and same setting.
