Strumming Patterns For Guitar

February 8th, 2010 / No Comments » / by admin

As there are many different picking techniques, and any number of chord inversions, there are different strumming patterns for guitar. A list of strumming patterns is nearly impossible to define, as there are variations from jazz patterns all the way to country strumming patterns (and every style in between) that go well beyond the usual guitar strumming patterns. As many players as there are, you can be assured new strumming guitar techniques, as well as guitar strumming tricks will be invented to challenge the old patterns. Learning guitar chords strumming or just the basics of strumming the guitar could take a few months, but years to master.

Basic strumming patterns is where this all starts. Down strokes or up strokes, it is imperative you keep the rhythm steady (unless of course you want a slower or different strum on your opposing direction). Sometimes within the same stroke you might slow down or speed up, but these are beyond the basic strumming patterns. In fact there are those basic strumming patterns where you don’t even attempt opposing down-strokes and upstrokes, just a nice steady flow with a flick of your wrist in one direction.

February 7th, 2010 / No Comments » / by admin

By: susan hargreaves

Samsung G800The Samsung G600 5 megapixel camera phone has recently received an upgrade from the company as they have now released the new Samsung G800. The Samsung G800 is also a slider phone with a 2.4 inch 262k colour TFT screen with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. It also houses a built-in 5 megapixel camera with video recording facility. But the edge in the phone is its distinct camera features like 3 x optical zoom and Xenon flash. Music is going to get a new name with the Samsung G800. The phone carries an integrated music player and a stereo FM radio – so, you will never feel bored again. Other noteworthy features in the phone are 3G HSDPA, Bluetooth A2DP, GPRS, USB, EDGE, WAP 2.0 XHTML, HTML, 160MB shared memory, MicroSD memory card option etc.

LG Viewty

LG Viewty is not just a simple fashion phone. The design is simplistic and user friendly no doubt, but the specifications are impressive and the features are high-tech and advanced. The touchscreen dominates the exterior. Lack of keypad makes this phone a compact device of almost the same size as the Chocolate phone. The touchscreen is made up of a glass panel with a capacitive (charge storing) material coating. The screen is sensitive to the touch of your finger. This property might sometimes prove to be quite a hassle, and you might take a while to get used to the Viewty ways.

The LG Viewty uses a Schneider Kreuznach lens to ensure high-quality optics in its 5 megapixel camera. A complete set of software complements this pretty handset. It includes a multimedia player capable of playing MP3, AAC, WMA and RealAudio sound files, as well as MPEG4, H.263 and H.264 video. The phone also boasts of a web browser with Adobe/Macromedia Flash support and a document viewer that supports text, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat file types.

What is the Apple iPad and How Much Does it Cost?

January 31st, 2010 / No Comments » / by admin

By TC Thorn

Everything Apple does causes a storm in the tech world, but if you’re just an Average Joe (or Jane), you may be wondering what all the hubbub is about. What’s the Apple Ipad (and do you want one)? Let’s take a quick look.

What is the iPad?

The iPad is essentially a portable entertainment system. It allows you to watch movies, read ebooks and news stories, play games, listen to music, and send email (wireless connection required). It’s sort of a souped up version of the iPod Touch, except with a significantly larger display. With it’s full-color 9.7-inch screen, it matches the size of the Amazon Kindle DX (one of the largest-screened ebook readers currently on the market). The iPad weighs 1.5 pounds and, according to Apple, has 10 hours of battery life (computer manufacturers tend to overrate these things, but surely you’ll have enough to get through a couple movies before needing to recharge).

The iPad can run most App Store apps, and its interface is similar to that of the iPhone, so it’ll be an easy tool to use if you already have some familiarity with Apple’s recent products (and even if you don’t, the touch-based interface is quite intuitive).

ACE Personal Trainer Certification Exam – How to Study and Pass the ACE PT Exam

January 26th, 2010 / No Comments » / by admin

By S. McRee

Studying for a major exam can be frustrating. When I passed the ACE Personal Trainer Certification Exam after studying for only 2 months, I decided that I would share my tips on how I did it. Here is a summary of my study method.

You must buy some study materials. I bought the minimal materials I felt were necessary and that included the manual, study guide, practice test and an additional online practice test.

Start with Chapter 4 in the manual. The reason is that the first 3 chapters on anatomy, physiology and kinesiology can be overwhelming. I started with the chapter on Nutrition and then ended with the first 3 chapters.

Answer the corresponding questions in the study guide after you read each chapter. The study guide will be valuable to you so that you don’t have to re-read the entire manual when reviewing before your exam.

After going through the entire book and study guide, go back to the vocabulary at the end of each chapter and write out the definitions. There is a handy glossary at the end of the manual to help you with this. Writing it out helps reinforce the learning process.
